One's Own Blood

Though the proverbial thickness of blood and water may not be entirely accurate, you have no choice in the family you are given at birth. You are lashed together, forced to weather the waves of each other’s whims and follow each other down in tragedy if it comes to it. There is no point in struggle and no end in conflict. There is only your blood.

One's Own Blood is a play-by-post game following the aftermath of a terrible betrayal by one family member of another. One player is the culprit, struggling to explain their actions and live with themselves after the tragedy. The other is the slighted, fleeing from the place they used to call home and wondering why. Through a series of letters, they attempt to untangle (or further ensnare themselves in) their complex feelings of seething hatred and loving care towards each other.

One's Own Blood has been formatted to be compatible with text-to-speech readers. It is a hack of Beyond Reach by Annie Johnston-Glick and was written for the Correspondence Jam.
